The former president () has exhibited the electronic anklet he was wearing since last Friday (18) and stated that the device is a “symbol of maximum humiliation.” He spoke after meeting at the National Congress with PL parliamentarians to discuss political action strategy.
“Cowardice what they are doing with former President of the Republic. Let’s face everything and everyone. What goes for me is the law of God,” said the former president. “This is a symbol of the maximum humiliation,” he said, pointing to the anklet.
The use of the device is part of a set of precautionary measures fulfilled by the politician. On the day he put the device, he said, when leaving the DF Penitentiary Secretariat, that the prohibitions represented a “supreme humiliation.” Bolsonaro had refused to display anklets to journalists ever since.
The device also appears in a photo published by Federal Deputy Maurício do Volleyball (PL-MG). “The biggest injustice in the history of this country. I will not give up our Brazil,” wrote the deputy.
In addition to having to use the monitoring device, Bolsonaro is prohibited from accessing social networks and talking to his son Eduardo, who is in the United States and whose performance to the Trump government to raise sanctions against Brazil is investigated by the Federal Police.
