Police Marcus Augusto Mendes, author of the shots, and Robson Barreto, who accompanied his colleague, were indicted for murder. Judge Isabel Begalli Rodriguez ordered the removal of the two for a period of 90 days, taking into account another case in which both were involved, also in the Fogaréu favela, in Capão Redondo, which had already resulted in a death.
