Corinthians vai receber transfer ban por dívida com Cuiabá no Caso Raniele? image

Corinthians made on Monday the initial payment of the agreement signed at the National Chamber of Dispute Resolution (CNRD) to pay off debts with clubs, entrepreneurs and players. However, the amount passed on – R $ 150 thousand – is being contested by Cuiabá, who charges a larger amount per portion of Raniele and threatens to ask for sanctions from the club from São Paulo.

According to the president of Cuiabá, Cristiano Dresch, the club is entitled to receive $ 750 thousand in this first installment. He says he has already consulted CNRD and stresses that if Corinthians does not complement the value later this week, the punishment of transfer banwhich prevents the registration of new players.

The agreement was approved in April and provides for debt payment in 24 quarterly installments, until April 2031. The first should have been paid on July 17, 2025. However, CNRD’s own decision admits that the first installment could be higher, as Corinthians had the punishments suspended since November 2024, which would allow to prepare financially.

The total plan of the club involves the payment of R $ 76 million to several creditors. The established division determines that 80% of the amount paid in each installment goes to the main creditor, while the remaining 20% cover attorney’s fees.

If Corinthians repeats payments delays, it may be punished with up to six months of transfer ban, with no possibility of reversal even if it regulates the debts during this period.

Raniele Case: Understand Corinthians debt with Cuiabá

The amount contested by Cuiabá is linked to the purchase of the Raniele steering wheel, made in 2024, in an agreement totaling $ 18 million. In all, the portion won on July 17 corresponds to about R $ 4.5 million to be divided among several creditors.

In an interview with Radio Bandeirantesthe president of Cuiabá, Cristiano Dresch, harshly criticized the Corinthian stance and charged responsibility:

“Who asked for this plan at CNRD was Corinthians himself. They had known for a long time that this portion won on the 17th. Cuiabá is not to blame if Corinthians became political chaos. They sold the raniele to the club and trusted the Corinthians brand. Now we are being harmed.”

Dresch also argues that CNRD made exceptional concessions to Corinthians that would not be offered to smaller clubs like Cuiabá:

“CNRD has created a payment plan to lose sight of no interest, just because it is Corinthians. Meanwhile, we had to resort to the financial market and borrow $ 10 million to keep the bills up to date. Corinthians can’t break, but can Cuiabá?”

In addition to the financial dispute, the leader also criticized the sports impact of Corinthians behavior, noting that the club hired several reinforcements without paying debt, while other teams struggle to stay in series A and B with tight budgets:

“They won from Ceará, a team that will fight not to fall. These points make a difference. It’s an improper advantage. This is a blow to Brazilian football.”

The scenario aggravates the crisis in Parque São Jorge, which is experiencing a delicate financial moment: the salaries of players and employees were delayed earlier this month and even payments to the security company responsible for protecting striker Memphis Depay were suspended. The club ended the year 2024 with a debt of $ 2.568 billion.
