One of them is Vlad Plahotniuk, while the second is Konstantin Tsioutsiou, a former Moldovan MP and a close associate of Plahondiuk, during the newsmaker news website.

According to a briefing provided by Moldovan Police Chief Biorel Tsernetsanu, Vlad Plahotnuk was arrested at Athens Airport while heading to Dubai. However, he did not confirm the arrest of Platenuk’s partner, Constantine Tsioutsiou.

It is noted that the Ministry of Justice and the Moldovan Public Prosecutor’s Office are preparing to proceed with the process of issuing the two detainees.

Plahotnuk, scams and 4 nationals

Plahotnuk led the Democratic Party, which was in power in the Moldovan Republic from 2016 to 2019, but also participated in the 2009 government.

It is involved in many criminal proceedings, regarding crimes related to embezzlement of state funds and their illegal transfer other than Moldova.

Plahotnuk left Moldova in June 2019, when the Democrats lost power and was brought to trial.

He was charged with the bank fraud case, the disappearance of $ 1 billion by Moldovan banks in 2014, and is also being investigated for alleged bribery by the former President of the Moldovan Republic, Igor Dodon, with a bag full of money. For his part, Dondon denies the charges that have been brought.

On the Interpol website, Plahotnuk appears with four nationals, including Romanian, and last year acquired Mexican documents, which was also confirmed by the Moldovan police chief.

However, according to a March investigation by Garda Police (ZDG) from Chisinau, the documents were found to be fake and were sent by Mexico by a Mexican citizen in the name of a young Russian who lives in Dubai, Irina Ustina.
