The National Police arrested Álvaro Pasquín Mora, 33, known as the tattoos fugitiveto which the Interior Ministry had included in July last year in to request citizen collaboration. His arrest has been produced only nine days after the crime of sexual abuse committed in 2017 for which he had been convicted. Pasquín – the sixth of that escape relationship that is arrested – had been hidden in a shed surrounded by vegetation in the Madrid neighborhood of Jardín practically without leaving and without relating to anyone. After his arrest the first thing he asked the agents was to be able to talk to their mother, with whom he had lost all contact in these years, detail sources close to the investigation.

The search for the now arrested began in 2020 after issuing a judicial order of entry into prison later to be convicted of the aggression to a 20 -year -old girl. Pasquín did not appear and the police then deployed an intense activity for its location that, however, was unsuccessful. According to sources close to those inquiries, the fugitive had broken any relationship with their family and friendship environment, which prevented clues about its location. Therefore, last summer the police officers decided to include their face in the poster of the most wanted and thus claim through the media and social networks the citizen collaboration that would allow to collect some data on their whereabouts.

To do this, Interior spread its photograph and highlighted its physical characteristics: 1.70 meters high, thin complexion, brown hair, white skin and black eyes. To facilitate its identification, the large number of tattoos that both sides and in legs and forearms were emphasized. In the chest he had tattooed the phrase “Luck is thrown”, as the fugitive itself showed in the photo of its X profile (formerly Twitter) that it had opened in 2016.

His search had intensified in recent months since the crime for which he had been convicted was going to prescribe on July 31. Pasquín himself admitted after his arrest that he carried the countdown and that he knew that in a few days he was going to be exempted from any criminal responsibility for those facts. “He told us that he was convinced that we were not going to find him and that he would be able to return to his previous life in a few days,” details an agent who has participated in the operation.

However, last Tuesday that possibility vanished. After analyzing the abundant information provided by Citizens about the possible whereabouts of Pasquín – “you have to do a screening task to rule out the erroneous of which it can be useful,” these sources detail -, agents of the Fugitive Location Section of the National Police of the National Police located it hidden in a shed located in a farm that belonged to an old man with whom he had established friendship.

According to Pasquín himself to the police after his arrest, he had been living there for five years – those who had fled – in little salubres conditions next to a cat and did not relate to anyone in person. Also that it had not come out at that time of that place, although the latter extreme agents question it because they saw that their body had new tattoos. The vegetation and the high walls that surrounded the precarious construction in which it was housed prevented that it could be seen from the outside, the sources consulted clarify. In addition, to hinder his identification he had left his hair long and had dyed it reddish. The food was achieved by internet orders to home delivery companies by using an identity that had usurped a person.

The economic media to subsist themselves with that same identity doing sale business through the Internet thanks to a computer that had. This computer team was, he told the agents, his main distraction and, even, he had made several courses through him online for when he prescribed his crime and could leave. According to sources close to the investigation, one of the clues that facilitated their location was precisely the tracking of the digital accounts it used. When he was arrested, Pasquín did not resist. The judge has decreed his entry into prison.

The campaigns in which citizens are requested to locate fugitives are not new. In previous years, the Spanish police themselves have launched. The one launched by the Ministry of Interior achieved in a year and a half whose data was disseminated then. The current one has already exceeded these figures with six arrests in just 12 months.

In them, the police asks that anyone who can provide some data on the whereabouts of the escapes will contact confidentially through email. Interior always emphasizes that not all escapes can be in Spain and remember that the campaign has the collaboration of the European Red of Active Fugitive Search Equipment (ENCONAST in its acronym in English).

At present, from the list of the most sought after, four four remain. This is Baltasar Vilar Durán, aka Saro68, who is pending to comply with sentences that total 45 years in prison for drug trafficking; Alberto Severo de Sousa, Since it since March 2023 for the death of his partner, a pharmacist whose body appeared at the home of Sant Sadurní d’Alcoia (Barcelona) they shared; A Salesian religion professor sentenced to 32 years in jail for seven crimes of abuse, three of them continued, against six minors; and José Manuel Canela Vázquez, aka Ferramacheconsidered one of the main hashish capos in the province of Huelva.
