Margareth Buzetti (PSD-MT) criticizes the deputy’s performance in the US and says statements about tariffs have harmed the former president
The Senator (PSD-MT) blamed the deputy (PL-RJ) for the imposition of an electronic anklet to the former president (PL). In an interview with journalists on Tuesday (22.Jul.2025), the congressman criticized the performance of the former president’s son in the United States and called him “Moleque”.
According to Buzetti, Eduardo disrupted his father by stating that he participated in fares negotiations with US authorities. The criticism was made after the deputy interview with the podcast Intelligence Ltdaon Monday (21.Jul.2025), in which he tried to exempt himself from responsibility for the commercial sanctions imposed by Brazil.
The senator stated that “It’s an abuse what Eduardo is doing there in the US. With the country and his father”. Eduardo said he has always defended individual sanctions against STF Minister Alexandre de Moraes, but that tariffs were exclusive decision of the Trump government.
Three weeks earlier, however, the deputy had said that the measures announced by the US President “Confirmed success” of the joints that was driving in the United States. The contradiction generated criticism between Bolsonaro allies.
Margareth Buzetti is an alternate of the Minister of Agriculture, Carlos Fávaro, and supported Jair Bolsonaro in the 2022 elections.
