In a rally marked by attacks on his own vice-president and insults to opposition, Argentina’s president, Javier Milei, again bet on confrontation as the main political asset. Faced with an audience crowded at the event THE FEST RIGHT, Held in Cordoba, Milei called Victoria Villarruel a “gross traitor” and announced that she will veto the project.
The statement was given at the closing of the festival promoted by libertarian allies and organized by journalist Javier Negre, from the site The daily right. Milei, cheered by about 2,500 supporters, said the veto will be published “in the coming days”, criticizing the project’s fiscal impact and accusing Villarruel of having led the proposal.
“I suggest that before they do tricks, they learn to add two more,” said the president, referring to the vice, with curses from the audience.

The public clash with the vice opens the political break between the two, who came to power in 2023 with a speech of ideological cohesion. Milei accused Villarruel of pressuring him with project costs and mocked his argument.
In contrast, he praised the secretary general of the presidency and her sister, Karina Milei, whom she called “El Jefe” and called for applause for alleged administrative achievements.
Polarization and electoral bet
A few months from the October legislative elections, Milei reinforced the war narrative against political stablishment, especially against Kirchnerism, which called the “most indebted movement in Argentine history”. Also aimed the governor of Buenos Aires, Axel Kicillof, whom he classified as “parasite”.
Continues after advertising
“We are at war, we will crush them at the polls,” he said, promising a “purple fall” in the elections, in reference to a wave of libertarian votes. He said that many opponents “not even in statuettes people want to see more” and “will be surprised by the results.”
Milei also praised his closest ministers, such as the economy’s holder, Luis ‘Toto’ caputo, and the deregulation responsible, Federico Sturzenegger, for alleged “more than 8,000 structural reforms”. Both have been key pieces in Milei’s attempt to advance his liberalizing agenda.
The event ended after speech by new right figures, such as influencer Agustín Laje, who attacked the LGBTQ+ and the left movement, and Javier Negre himself, who led the press attacks. Outside, militants sold T -shirts and products with slogans against journalists and opponents.
