A dentist and federal civil servant of Santa Catarina died last Saturday (19) after, according to the family, military police confused a heart attack behind the wheel, denying care to the victim.

On Friday night (18), the man, identified as Cezar Maurício Ferreira suffered a car accident in São José, Greater Florianópolis, and due to “evidence that he was driving under the influence of alcohol”, the agents led him to the city’s police center duty.

However, lawyer Wilson Knöner, who represents the family maintains that Cezar suffered a sudden illness while driving and lost consciousness, causing the accident, and that the agents confused the symptoms of infarction, such as disorientation and changed breathing.

“That is, what is the version that there was supposedly drunkenness behind the wheel? A pure subjective achism, absolutely without technical support of the police, who trusted their police experience to interpret the flagrant signs of infarction in progress (…) interpreted everything absolutely wrong. Even the police diverged to the alleged external signs of drunkenness, nor the military police officers who did to Occurrence was harmony in the versions they brought, “he said.

After being arrested, the victim was taken to a police station and was found dead on Saturday morning (19).

This Tuesday, the Regional Labor Court of the 12th Region, where the dentist also acted as a public servant, lamented the death and stated that the victim leaves a legacy of “respect, empathy and special affection for teammates”.

Still in a statement, the TRT stated that “it will follow the case attentively, trusting that the competent bodies will conduct the facts with proper speed and rigor, so that all responsibilities are clarified.”

He was divorced and leaves two children, Allan, 32, and Gabriel, 28.

“My father was my greatest example of integrity, lightness and love for life. He had the rare gift of transforming difficult times into something more bearable, with a smile or a welcoming word,” said Allan.

In a statement, the Santa Catarina Civil Police stated that after the general delegate, Ulisses Gabriel, to learn about the case, requested a “Intelligence Report of the Intelligence Directorate (Dint/PCSC)”, so that the facts were properly determined, with the utmost urgency.

Even CNNCezar’s defense said it will make requirements to the State Public Prosecution Service against the case that the case was taken by the police.
