The provision of services by motorcycle taxi drivers and motorcycles in Rio Branco will follow new technical and safety requirements. The Municipal Superintendence of Transport and Traffic (RBTrans) published Ordinance No. 239/2025 in the State Official Gazette (DOE), this Wednesday (23), defining the changes.

The new guidelines include from the standardization of equipment to the obligation of annual surveys in vehicles. The measure enters into force immediately and revokes previous rules contradicting the new regulation.

One of the main points of the concierge is the release of so-called metal straps, also known as fairing protectors, to replace the traditional model of the “trim forest” used in motorcycles. The change meets claims from the Category Union (Sindmoto) and follows rules already provided for by the National Traffic Council (Contran).

Motorcycles registered for use in passenger transport or delivery of goods must undergo a compulsory survey once a year. In cases such as vehicle replacement or registered complaint, extraordinary inspections may also be made. Items such as brakes, tires, lighting, mirrors, as well as documents, visual appearance of the motorcycle, and conservation of vests and helmets will be checked.

The presentation of all mandatory equipment, such as appropriate clothing and helmets within the required standards, will be required at the time of registration or whenever there is a vehicle change. Failure to comply with these obligations may prevent the professional from continuing to operate.

Mototaxists and Motofrettas will have a 30 -day deadline to adjust to the new rules. The full adjustments schedule will be released by RBTrans.
