Wimbledon Champion Jannik Sinner reversed his former physical predator Umberto Ferrara with immediate effect, confirmed the Italian number one in the world on Wednesday (23).
Sinner separated from Ferrara and physiotherapist Giacomo Naldi last year after investigation into his positive tests for the prohibited substance closet.
“The decision was made in conjunction with Jannik’s management team as part of the continuous preparations for the next tournaments, including Cincinnati Open and US Open,” the Sinner team said in a statement.
“Umberto has played an important role in Jannik’s development so far, and his return reflects a renewed focus on the highest level continuity and performance.”
Sinner complied with a three -month suspension earlier this year after agreeing with Wada (World Anti -Doping Agency) in February, after authorities recognized that anabolic closet had entered his body inadvertently through Massages applied by Naldi in Indian Wells in March 2024.
Wada had appealed to the CAS (Arbitral Tribunal of the Sport) against the decision of an independent court last August that exempted irregularities sinner.
Sinner, who returned to the action in May and lost to Carlos Alcaraz in the Roland Garros final before defeating him to beat Wimbledon, said Closbol, which could increase muscle mass, entered his system after Naldi applied a free-to-hand spray in his own hand before performing sinner treatments.
The spray had been given to Naldi by Ferrara.
In a speech at last year’s US Open, Sinner explained his decision to separate from Ferrara and Naldi.
“Now, because of these mistakes, I don’t feel so confident to continue with them. I had a lot of difficulties in recent months. I was expecting the result. The only thing I need now is a little fresh air,” he said.
Ferrara, who had attributed to blame for Naldi incident, worked this year with Sinner’s Italian compatriot Matteo Berrettini.
Sinner, 23, had broken with Marco Panichi and Ulisis Badio, his coach and physiotherapist, before Wimbledon.
