ΗΠΑ: Το θέμα Έπσταϊν «καίει» Ρεπουμπλικανούς και Τραμπ – Η εκδίκηση του Μασκ

In a political storm, which has deeply divided it, the issue of the president’s … honesty about his relationship with the twin and Gisley Maxwell, the doomed to the address of a huge trafficking network for the international jet set, but also for the abuse.

The pressure exerted by the base of the Republican voters and which the Democrats have naturally rushed to exploit politically, brought – in addition to endless polls – movements within Congress.

Republican leadership closes Congress for summer

For about two weeks, the Senate situation, but also in the House of Representatives, smells of gunpowder, with the Democrats raising the tension- so in relevant committees and centrally- demanding that the members of the House vote for further investigation of the Trump-Estain relations and the files.

What is striking is that the Republican leadership in Congress was so afraid that the party discipline could be broken that one day the summer closure of the House could not be broken.

Government and Republicans are “flirting” with Maxwell

In addition, according to US media, the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mike Johnson and the party’s leadership at parliamentary level are in direct contact with the Trump government and the Ministry of Justice for better coordination on the issue.

The Republican Representative’s decision by Tennessee, Tim Barget, who is preparing to file Gisley Maxuel to submit to the House Committee on the House of Representatives and government reforms, has also caused a sensation.

At the same time, it became known that officials from the US Ministry of Justice have begun contacts with the convicted of Estain’s co -operator in 20 years to secure her cooperation.

Ilon Musk and the role of “divorce” with Trump

The issue of Trump-Estin relations is concerned with the American and international news, following the relevant reports of the ex-head of the former head Department of Government Effectiveness of the US (Doge), and richer man on the planet Ilon Musk, after a “divorce” with Trump.

Musk’s reference to X -in -law – in Trump’s possible relationships with the – officially – self -sufficient Jeffrey Estain, triggered a storm of conspiracy theories in social media and divided the basis of Trump’s followers further, expanding the gap between the Maga and the Maga.

Since June – when the rupture has come – gradually the issue is taking on dimensions, and all this wave is also enriched with real elements from the case. At the same time, Trump, his people, as well as the mechanism he has made within the Republican Party, make crisis management moves all this time.

Battle for the “Soul” of Maga

The situation has brought Trump facing increasing discontent in the circles of his supporters, which even culminated in the joint report by the Ministry of Justice and the FBI in early July, according to which there was no further information to be made public.

The decision to seek a meeting of ministry officials with Maxwell seems to have been designed to calm down Trump’s base.

In this context, it is not unlikely that Maxwell will try to take advantage of the meeting to receive a reduced prison sentence, telling the Ministry of Justice what he wants to hear. Maxwell was convicted in 2021 for sexual exploitation of children and other crimes.

Will the issue have a political cost for Trump?

In the midst of all this storm that will seem to have other developments, the most recent average of 12 RealClearpolitics polls published between 6 and 20 July finds that 45.5% of Americans approve Trump’s overall performance, while 52.1% condemns it.

This measurement is extremely useful as it ranks Trump in the position of four presidents with the lowest popularity rates after World War II (the two position he himself held during his first term). At the same time it is crucial as the Trump-Estain issue has not yet affected its percentages, as it is ongoing.

Analysts estimate that it is not unlikely that his popularity since September that parliamentary life will begin again, has fallen drastically.

In addition, there are a few who appreciate a decline in Trump’s popularity will have an impact on balances within the Republican Party, and it is unlikely that there will be centrifugal forces in the party in view of the 2026 intermediate elections.
