Aena will prohibit homeless people at Barajas airport as of Thursday | News from Madrid

As of this Thursday, homeless people will not be able to sleep definitely at the facilities of the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport. This was announced by Aena on Wednesday morning. All people – will be referred to a reception center enabled by the Madrid City Council. And they will continue to be attended by the social workers of the Consistory street teams.

“Once the reception center for people who spend the night at the Adolfo Suárez Madrid-Barajas airport is available, diligent and specifically enabled by the Madrid City Council in the framework of their wide administrative competences in social matters, and as Aena already advanced last week, the people who sleep in the T4 terminal are being informed that, as of July 24, July 24 will not be able to remain in the facilities.”

Social workers will guide the population of all airport terminals to the City Council facilities. The reception center has about 150 seats.
