Wake will take place this Friday (25) at the Municipal Theater, in Rio de Janeiro, from 9am to 1pm, in a ceremony open to the public
The body arrived at Santos Dumont airport, on the morning of Thursday (24). The flight came from New York, scaled at Guarulhos International Airport, in around 5am and left for the city of Rio. In sequence, the body was taken to the Cemetery and Crematory Laboratory of Penance, in Rio’s Port Zone. The family accompanied the entire transfer.
The funeral will take place this Friday (25) at the Municipal Theater, in downtown Rio de Janeiro, which is part of the Carnival Megablocos Circuit that was named after the city hall. The ceremony will be open to the public and will happen from 9am to 1pm.
After the funeral, the black body Gil will be taken to the Ecumenical Chapel of the Penance Crematorium and Cemetery, where there will be a farewell ceremony for family and close friends until 5 pm. After this moment, the black body will be sent to cremation.
Preta Gil died last Sunday in New York, United States, after a long battle against cancer. She was being treated in the US and was preparing to return to Brazil when she got sick and could not resist.
