With summer in the peak and thousands of Portuguese to prepare to fly to vacation destinations, an aviation professional has decided to share the advice that can make any flight quieter. Bringing what is needed aboard the plane is the suggestion, it is a simple but effective tip that many still ignore the bags.
Kelly, a flight attendant and author of the blog ‘The Awkward Tourist’, has been working with a large airline for over six years and has witnessed everything on board. Its main recommendation for those who will fly is clear: “Assume there will be nothing on the plane you need,” he told the British newspaper Mirror.
According to Kelly, relying that the airline will have proper food, headphones or blankets can be expensive. “I’ve seen mothers desperate for not having baby milk. They bring their children on board with nothing and then get angry when we have no alternatives. I can only offer a cookie,” he shared.
Don’t count on usual comfort
Technical failures are also frequent. “There are flights where the entertainment system does not work, the headphones are over or on board service is limited. So always bring what you think you need: coat, special food, headphones or children toys.”
The flight assistant recalls that, at altitude, the resources are limited. “We are flying over nine thousand meters, 800 kilometers per hour. There is no way to improvise much,” he warns.
Hygiene care and respect for others
Kelly also drew attention to behaviors to avoid. One of them is the habit of walking barefoot in the cabin: “Never enter barefoot in the plane’s bathroom. That is not water on the floor,” he warned with humor.
Another common mistake is to bring food with intense smell, which may disturb other passengers. In addition, it recommends maintaining a respectful attitude with the crew. “Be nice. A smile or thanks make a difference. We’re there to help, but we’re also human.”
What should never forget to take
In short of her experience, Kelly says there is a simple gesture that can change the flight experience: being prepared. “If you think you will need something, bring you. It is better to prevent.”
The board, published on social networks and shared by various British means, generated hundreds of grateful passenger comments. “The next time I travel, I will follow these tips to the letter,” wrote a netizen, quoted by.
For long or short flights, inside or outside Europe, the lesson remains: When it comes to traveling, being one step ahead can make all the difference.
