The Denunciation Dial released a poster to assist in investigations into the death of the third sergeant of the Rio de Janeiro Military Police, Tulio de Siqueira Maia. The policeman was shot in the head after reacting to an attempted robbery In Vila Valqueire, in the West Zone of Rio, on the afternoon of Wednesday (23).
The sergeant of the 24th BPM (Queimados) had just left a cafeteriaon Intendente Magalhães Avenue, accompanied by his wife, when he was approached by a man on a motorcycle. According to the Civil Police, he responded to the attempted robbery and It was hit by two shots in the head.
Residents rescued the policeman and took him to Carlos Chagas State Hospital, But he could not resist the injuries.
The case is investigated by the Capital Homicide Police Station (DHC), through the death investigations of security agents. Researchers seek images from security cameras in the region and testimonials from witnesses who can help identify the perpetrator.
Tulio Maia is the 30th military police officer killed in violent actions in the state of Rio de Janeiro in 2025. Police reinforce that those who have information that may contribute to the investigation should report anonymously by the channels of the Dial Denunciation.
