A member of the Prison and Judicial Guard Corps (ZVJS), which was found on Tuesday (22 July) in the premises of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Prešov with a shooting head injury, died. Anna Bečková Ragasová, spokeswoman for ZVJS, told TASR.
“With deep sorrow, we confirm that our colleague on July 23, 2025 succumbed to injuries,” said Bečková Ragasová.
A 42-year-old member of the judicial guard occurred on Tuesday afternoon during the service break. He was found with a shooting head injury in an area reserved for members of the ZVJS in the building of the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Prešov. As the Regional Prosecutor’s Office in Prešov informed, the circumstances and causes of the event are subject to investigation. According to media coverage, the man was supposed to turn the gun against himself.
