“We aligned the next steps of the diplomatic mission with focus, dialogue and cooperation,” wrote Senator Nelsinho Trad (PSD-MS), chairman of the commission that will negotiate the rates on the meeting held with Itamaraty.

The politician shared on his X (former Twitter) profile a video in which blogger Paulo Figueiredo calls former Bolsonaro ministers “traitors of the homeland” for integrating mission.
Astronaut Senator Marcos Pontes (PL-SP) was Minister of Science, Technology and Innovations during the government of Jair Bolsonaro and Senator Tereza Cristina (PP-MS) acted as Minister of Agriculture, Livestock and Supply in the same management.
The former president’s son rejects attempts to reverse the tariff and states that the only solution to prevent the imposition of fees is a “wide, general and unrestricted” amnesty for those convicted of the coup plot, including his father.
Eduardo stated that “such parliamentarians do not speak on behalf of President Jair Bolsonaro” and that the mission of senators is “doomed to failure.” The video of blogger Paulo Figueiredo, attached to Eduardo’s post, states that the senators will not even be received by high -ranking employees.

The Senate’s mission also has the presence of petistas, such as Senator Jaques Wagner (PT-BA), which motivated the most criticism of Eduardo. “The embarrassment gets worse with the presence of Senators linked to the Lula party, a politician who systematically adopts hostile postures to the US,” he wrote in his X.
Last Monday, 21, the former president’s son stated that he attended meetings with members of the US government in which the tariff was discussed. The American president, in the letter in which he reported the fees, asked for the end of Jair Bolsonaro’s trial and said investigations into his participation in the coup plot is a “witch hunt.”
According to Senator Jaques Wagner, who is part of the mission, the US government does not respond attempts to negotiate. “There is a letter delivered to the US government since May 16 that has not yet been answered. I hope we are successful,” he said on a video in his X.
