The pre -trial detention came for later, but the coercion and obstruction practices continue.

The past week had not only events of great legal and political importance. There were episodes of non -ordinary didactic value. Of those weeks that tell for the rest of our democratic life.

in a precautionary measure, it detailed the Bolsonaro family’s performance in the amnesty bargain and ordered an anklet adoption and restrictive measures about Jair. Allied deputies received him in Congress, heard laments, shouted by amnesty, and forward vote.

Eduardo Bolsonaro, whose conspiracy is financed by money from the House and father, tries to exits not to lose his term, or, in the worst hypothesis, not become ineligible. The same deputies seek to change regiment to allow them to live abroad with salary. Even governors of SP, SC and MG have been as an international representative.

It became clearer that the tariff sanction imposed by Trump on Brazil has more to do with the interests of American corporate power than with Bolsonaro. Pix, the form and risks of restrictions on social networks bother the big technology and finance.

Invoking Bolsonaro, Trump suspended eight ministers and family members. News about technological attacks that Brazil could suffer, given the country’s dependence on the same foreign companies.

and voted against the precautionary measure alleging lack of evidence and freedom of expression. It surprised less by the content of the legal argument than to come from those who came. Some read the conversion of a laundry into a guarantee such as hermeneutic change. Others see less confessable reasons.

Deputy Henrique Vieira proposed a bill to add to “crimes against sovereignty”, the act of “negotiating or articulating with government or group measures that cause relevant damage or put the economy, technological infrastructure or the provision of digital services in the country, in order to interfere with the decision -making processes of constituted powers.” The intention is to give Eduardo’s project clearer in the US project.

Stephen Levitsky, Harvard’s political scientist, “Brazil’s democratic institutions seem to have responded much healthier than those of. Today Brazilian institutions are working better. You can agree with this or not, but it is the democratic process of Brazil working.” The STF immediately posted on its website.

The concepts of national sovereignty and popular sovereignty, along with the concepts of supremacy of the Constitution and Judicial Supremacy, have been distorted, usurped and instrumentalized in a disoriented public sphere. Have confused more than enlightened.

Overestimated in its scope and underestimated in its importance, we need these concepts to evaluate what happens. The next column tries to point a way.
