On Wednesday, the United States announced the approval of the sale of weapons worth $ 322 million to strengthen the Ukrainian air defense and its armored combat vehicles. TASR informs about this, referring to AFP report.

The sale of HAWK air defense and its maintenance will cost up to $ 172 million, while the expenses for equipment and maintenance for Bradley combat cars will be $ 150 million, the US Defense Cooperation Agency (DSCA) said in a statement.

The US Department of Foreign Affairs has approved the possible sale of these weapons and DSCA has provided the required notice to the US Congress, which must still approve the transactions, specifies AFP.

This proposed sales will support the goals of foreign policy and the objectives of the United States National Security by improving Ukraine’s ability to secure its own defense, said in a statement published on the DSCA web hillside.

According to the Agency, the proposed sales will improve Ukraine’s ability to face current and future threats by additionally equipping it to carry out missions focused on self -defense and regional security, the Declaration on the DSCA website.

Ukraine will not have a problem receiving these items and services into its armed forces and the proposed sale of this equipment and support will not change the basic military balance in the region, adds the agency.
