Protesters of civil society entities meet, on the morning of Friday (25), at the Noble Hall of the Faculty of Law of Largo de São Francisco, in the center of São Paulo, to defend the sovereignty of Brazil. The purpose of the act is to protest against the taxation announced by the President of the, scheduled to enter into force from August 1.
In the shouts of “without amnesty”, protesters, who fill the galleries of the hall, also criticize the revocation of visas for entry into the United States that affects ministers of the (Supreme Court), providing solidarity with the judiciary and. The act seeks to denounce US interference in Brazilian institutions and in the country’s internal affairs.
More than 100 civil society entities participate in the demonstration, such as the (Brazilian Bar Association), the Prerogatives Group and the UNE (National Student Union), as well as the Vladimir Herzog Institute and the ABI (Brazilian Press Association).
The call for the act was signed by the director of the Faculty of Law of (University of São Paulo), Celso Campilongo, and the deputy director, Ana Elisa Bechara.
