More expensive electricity account and readjustments in basic services raised consumer costs in July, according to IBGE; Index indicates 0.33% in inflation, above projections
The housing rose 0.98% in July, after 1.08% in June. It was the biggest positive impact on the Broad National Consumer Price Index-15 (IPCA-15), released this Friday (25), by the Brazilian Institute of Geography and Statistics (). The group made a positive contribution of 0.15 percentage point to IPCA-15 (considered the preview of official inflation), which rose 0.33% in the month, above projections.
Electricity, the main individual impact on the index, rose 3.01% in July (0.12 pp), after a 3.29% increase in the previous month. The item is affected by the validity of the Red Tariff Flag level 1, with the additional $ 4.46 for every 100kWh consumed. In addition, there were tariff adjustments of 7.36% in; 14.19% in one of the dealers in; 1.97% in; 13.97% in one of the dealers in; and a 2.16% reduction in one of the dealers.
The water and sewage rate advanced 0.25% in July, after a 0.94% increase in June, with the item incorporating 9.88% adjustments into and 3.83% in Curitiba.
