The Supreme Court (STF) minister released a new version of the vote on Thursday (24) for the former president (PL) for breach of precautionary measures. The reason was to correct a Portuguese error written in upper case and bold.
“As several times I pointed out in the presidency of the Superior Electoral Court, the court is blind [sic] It’s not foolish !!!!! “, said the first version of the decision.
The stretch was changed to change the adverb “more” for the conjunction “but”.
Moraes frequently uses the use of upper case and bold to highlight excerpts from their votes and orders. This Thursday, the minister used the same strategy to put weight to the most important sentences of his text.
There were 11 stretches highlighted in bold in the decision that upheld the precautionary measures against Bolsonaro. In four cases, the minister also included upper case words to reinforce the importance of the sentence.
“Obviously, it would be not logical and reasonable to allow the use of the same criminal modus operandi with various posts on third party social networks, especially for ‘digital militias’ and previously coordinated political supporters for the dissemination of illicit conduct that could be practiced by Jair Messias Bolsonaro, whether in public acts, but always with the purpose of continuing to induce chief and to instigate chief of chief of chief Foreign state to take action to illicitly interfere with the regular course of the judicial process, “says Moraes in one of the featured sections.
The decision because days earlier, on Monday (21), Moraes threatened to arrest Bolsonaro for breaking up one of his precautionary measures. The minister assessed that the former president circumvent the rules by instigating supporters on social networks against the Supreme in a speech in the House of Representatives.
Bolsonaro’s dribbling, according to Moraes, would be the prohibition of using his own social networks and third parties. The replication of the former president’s speech by son Eduardo Bolsonaro (PL) on the platforms was characterized by the minister as a “illicit modus operandi” in an attempt to obstruction of justice.
Moraes, however, said the irregularity was isolated and dismissed Bolsonaro’s custody. He warned that recurrence in practice will be reason for the former president to be arrested.
