The mayor of, (PSD), made full praise to the governor of Paraná ,. (PSD), at an event this Friday (25) and said that Brazil would be much better today if the party colleague was occupying the presidency.
Both participated in a lunch at the headquarters of the Rio de Janeiro Commercial Association. Paes is ally of President Lula, while Ratinho presents himself as one of the right-wing candidates in the 2026 election.
“Governor Ratinho has had the ability, to understand, to dialogue, to diverge, but, above all, to build consensus. Imagine if Brazil had the governor Ratinho ruling us, we would be much better,”,
The compliment came after Paes mourn the fact that Brazil lives an extreme polarization among political opponents.
“We have been living in Brazil in recent years what politics should not be. Politics is the art of consensus construction from spreads, antagonisms, but we need to establish consensus and common agenda with Brazil. It is very difficult for a country to advance with people treating opponents as enemies and not respecting the opinion of others,” he said.
In his speech, Paes said that if he decides to be a candidate for the government of Rio de Janeiro next year, he intends to mirror the administration.
“My campaign promise would be this: if I was a candidate, I want to be in Rio de Janeiro what the mouse went to Paraná.”
