STF Advances from the BRICS Judiciary in Brasilia

Event has no new date set; Cut did not report the reasons for the postponement, announced less than 3 weeks of the meeting

The Supreme Court (STF) has postponed the summit of the presidents of the Judiciary of the BRICS countries (Brazil, Russia, China, India and South Africa) scheduled to take place in Brasilia on August 11, 2025.

The Court confirmed to Poder360 The postponement on Thursday (24.Jul), but did not explain the reasons for the decision. He said there is no new date yet.

The meeting was included in the official BRICS calendar ,. The event would be led by the presidency of the Supreme Court, currently occupied by Minister Luís Roberto Barroso.

If the new date of the event is not defined soon, Barroso may not be the host, as his term ends in September.

The Brazilian judiciary has faced criticism while the government suffers diplomatic tensions.

The summit was postponed 8 days from the US fare of 50% of the US on Brazilian products – MEDIUM adopted by (Republican Party) in a reaction to STF investigations against Jair Bolsonaro (PL) for coup attempt.

The White House also of Brazilian magistrates and indicated that it can adopt new restrictions.

Also this Thursday (24.Jul) the US government to the STF minister-which leads investigations against Bolsonaro.
