Britain has agreed to drop humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the country will be involved in throwing humanitarian aid in Gaza, facing calls by deputies to recognize the Palestinian state.

British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said on Friday that the United Kingdom will be involved in throwing humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip from the air. In the meantime, more than 200 British parliamentarians called on him to recognize the Palestinian state. This was reported by PA Media and DPA, writes TASR.

Israel announced on Friday that it will allow other countries to renew aid to Gaza to alleviate the starvation of the inhabitants of this Palestinian territory.

Starmer said Britain would do everything it can to get help to Gaza in this way. According to him, London is already working with Jordan to deliver British humanitarian aid. The British leader also explained that children who need specialized medical care will be evacuated from Gaza to the United Kingdom.

In addition, he called for the creation of an international coalition for “ending suffering” in Gaza, a similar coalition of countries aimed at helping Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Starmer is under increasing pressure to recognize the Palestinian state. His government in Friday’s letter asks to take such a step at the next week’s General Assembly of the UN More than 220 British deputies. The members of his Labor Party predominate among the signatories. According to MEPs, this would be a strong symbolic legacy that Britain supports the law of Palestinians.

French President Emmanuel Macron announced that his country will officially acknowledge Palestine at the UN VZ meeting in September. British politicians subsequently began to ask if London should do it, wrote Pa Media.

In response to the calls on Friday, Starmer stressed that such a step must be part of a wider plan that will eventually lead to a two -state solution and permanent security for Palestinians and Israelis.
