As the dermatologist, doctor of medical sciences, Anna Kowalska in an interview with the “Wysokie Obcasy” portal, natural ingredients such as honey, yogurt and avocado, are rich in vitamins and antioxidants, which nourish the skin and protect it from the harmful effects of free radicals.

Moisturizing mask with avocado and honey

Avocado is a real treasure for our skin. Contains vitamins A, C and E, which are moisturizing ,. Honey has antibacterial and soothing properties. The combination of these two ingredients is an ideal proposition for dry and tired skin.

Recipe:

  • 1/2 of mature avocado
  • 1 tablespoon of honey
  • Avocado crush with a fork to a smooth mass, add honey and mix thoroughly. Apply to cleansed face and neck skin, avoiding the eye area. Leave for 15-20 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water.

Refresh mask from cucumber and yogurt

Cucumber is an excellent ingredient for the summer. It has moisturizing, cooling and soothing properties. On the other hand, natural yogurt contains lactic acid, which gently exfoliates dead skin, refreshing and brightening the complexion.

Recipe:

  • 1/2 cucumber
  • 2 tablespoons of natural yogurt
  • Peel and grate the cucumber on a fine mesh. Clean the excess of juice. Mix with yogurt and apply to your face. After 15 minutes, rinse with cool water. “This mask is the perfect way to soothe the skin after sunbathing,” advises cosmetologist Katarzyna Nowak on her blog “Naturally beautiful”.

Lemon brightening mask and turmeric

Discoloration and uneven skin tone are a common problem after 40. Lemon and turmeric mask will help brighten the complexion and level its color. Lemon contains vitamin C, which brightens and antioxidant. Turmeric, on the other hand, has anti -inflammatory and antibacterial properties.

Recipe:

  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric powder
  • 1 tablespoon of honey

Mix all ingredients to a smooth paste. Apply to your face, avoiding the eye area. Leave for 10-15 minutes, then rinse with lukewarm water. Attention! The turmeric mask can slightly color the skin, so it’s worth doing a test on a small skin area before applying to the whole face.

Remember about regularity and security

In order for homemade masks to bring the expected results, they should be used regularly-preferably 2-3 times a week. Also remember to perform an allergic test before applying the mask to the whole face. Apply a small amount of mask to the skin behind the ear and wait 24 hours. If there are no unwanted reactions, you can safely use the face mask.
