Mexico starts a lottery for US migrants in response to a hard anti -immigration policy.

Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum announced on Friday to launch a lottery in order to raise money to support migrants who were in the middle of the government in the midst of the government against immigrants. Informed AFP, writes TASR.

In the United States, where President Donald Trump has been pushing for hard anti -immigration policy since his January inauguration, almost 12 million Mexicans have lived. According to Sheinbaum, approximately 75,000 of them have voluntarily returned to their homeland.

Lottery “is dedicated to our brothers and sisters to migrants”, said Friday Sheinbaum, who promised all the necessary consular assistance to the Mexicans affected by Trump’s intervention.

On the draws for a lottery with a win of almost 425 million pesos (19.5 million euros), the heart is shown surrounded by corn ears and Agave plants with the inscription “Mexico with M as a migrant”. The draw will begin on September 15, when Mexico celebrates the beginning of the war of independence with Spain in 1810.

“The money that will remain after the winnings will be used to strengthen all our support of migrants in the United States through our consulates,” explained the Mexican president, who had previously criticized the US immigration authorities raid. Their aim was to detain foreigners without the necessary documents, especially in Los Angeles, where a large community of Mexicans live.
