Minister Alexandre de Moraes, of the Supreme Court, determined on Saturday (26.Jul.2025) the ban on any camp within 1 km from the Three Powers Square, the Ministries Esplanade and Armed Forces barracks in Brasilia. According to the magistrate, the decision seeks to prevent new similar episodes on January 8.

“To ensure public safety and avoid new criminal events similar to scammer acts on 8/1/2023, I determine the ban on any camp within 1 km from the Three Powers Square, Esplanade of Ministries and, of course, in front of the Armed Forces barracks.”said Moraes. Read the document (PDF – 50 MB).

The measure was a complementary decision to the Order of Moraes for the Federal Deputy (PL-RJ) who began on the afternoon of Friday (25.Jul) in the Praça dos Três Powers, in front of the Court’s headquarters. At the request of the PGR (Attorney General’s Office), the minister determined that the PF (Federal Police) will summon the Governor of Brasilia (MDB), for immediate removal of the local congressman.

A well-known former president’s ally (PL), the congressman protested against the STF’s recent decisions by setting up a camp tent in the square and when placing a tapping tapping. Wearing a T -shirt with the Israeli flag, he said he was in “Fasting words”.

On July 18, Moraes in Bolsonaro as a precautionary measure. The former president is a defendant in a criminal case in the Supreme Court that investigates the central nucleus in the attempted coup d’état in 2022. If he is convicted of crimes of armed criminal organization, attempted violent abolition of the democratic rule of law, coup d’état, damage qualified by violence and serious threat against public assets and deterioration of overturned assets, the penalty may exceed the penalty. 40 years in prison.

André Marsiglia Analysis

Professor of Constitutional Law, Lawyer and Writer at Poder360, André Marsiglia assessed that Moraes’s decision is “Legally wrong”. For the expert, the inquiries conducted by the STF Minister serve to issue “Orders against anyone, in any context”.

Marsiglia’s analysis was published in an X post. The professional also mentions that the right to the meeting is in art. 5 from .

The Magna Carta determines the following: “Everyone can meet peacefully, without weapons, in places open to the public, regardless of authorization, provided that they do not frustrate another meeting previously summoned to the same place, and only prior notice is required to the competent authority.”.

Marsiglia declares that Ibaneis’s subpoena would also be irregular, because a court order could not violate administrative decisions.

“The governor is not employee of the Supreme Court and cannot have his administrative decisions or functional choices imposed by court order”wrote the lawyer.

Moraes had determined the removal of the Governor of the Federal District in January 2023, shortly after the attacks of 8 January.

André Marsiglia showed that Moraes’s decision brought a Portuguese/typing error in the writing of the text.

  • how it was written – “The order dever be performed immediately ”;
  • probable correct form “The order he must be performed immediately ”.

The magistrate committed theDuring the week. The text that gave Bolsonaro a warning about demonstrations to the press exchanged “but” by “more” In a stretch.

The sentence was then corrected, but still left without the addition of a necessary comma:

  • 1st version “Justice is blind more It’s not foolish ”;
  • 2nd version – “Justice is blind but It’s not foolish ”;
  • without Portuguese error – “Justice is blind, but not foolish.”

“More” indicates quantity. “But” equals “however”. In this case, it should come with comma by starting an adversative prayer.
