There were 54 smaller Moroccans not accompanied

A total of 54 minors unsuccessful Moroccans arrived at Swim on Friday night, Cuta, passing through the areas of Tarajal and Benzú, taking advantage of the storm on the North African coast.

According to Spanish Civil Guard sources, patrols were mobilized today along the most vulnerable coastal sections of the southern border of Ceuta to contain the attempts of the minors to reach the Spanish city.

The strong waves and adverse conditions did not prevent minors unable to try to reach the city, forcing the authorities to perform various ransom of children and adults.

The Ministry of Presidency and the Spanish interior also contacted the local police to try to locate other minors who may have been able to enter illegally and have not yet been registered.

According to official sources, newcomers join the 460 minors who are already under the care of the administration, within the limit of capacity.

The minors were delivered to the Spanish autonomous city protection units, which already welcomes more than 500 minors, despite having only 132 vacancies available.

Faced with this new increase in immigrants, the government of Ceuta has again requested the urgent intervention of the central government.

“We do not want to cause alarm, but we want to convey that this is a critical moment. It is a matter of state. Do not leave us alone,” said the local government, fearing that the situation gets worse during August, when this type of arrivals usually increases, the EFE news agency said.

For the local government, what happened this Friday could be repeated in the coming weeks, as last year more than 300 minors crossed in August, causing a collapse in the reception resources, whose consequences still persist.

The Government of Ceuta is attentive to August 28, a date announced by the Spanish Youth and Childhood Minister, Sira Rego, as the beginning of the reaction process of 4,400 minors of Ceuta and the Canaryes to other Spanish autonomous communities.

However, sources familiar with the process warned that transfers can be slow and in limited number, which will undermine the effectiveness.

The Ceutense government stressed the difficulty of providing appropriate care to children who arrive exhausted after spending hours at sea, and the need for psychological support for many of them before any transfer.

The same sources warned that, with constant flow of arrivals, if transfers are not performed quickly and dynamically, the recent immigration law reform will have a limited impact.
