On the morning of this Saturday (26), the He executed search and seizure warrants against military police from the route involved in the case that resulted in the death of investigator Rafael Moura da Silva, which took place on July 11 in the Fogaréu favela, south of São Paulo. The warrants were targeted by Sergeant Marcus Augusto Costa Mendes, author of the fatal shots, and Robson Santos Barreto, also a member of the Ostensive Rounds Tobias de Aguiar (Route). The searches took place both in the residences of the police and their cabinets in the corporation barracks.
During the seizures, electronic equipment was collected and Marcus Augusto’s functional weapon – specifically a cell phone, notebook and the corporation’s pistol. With Robson, the investigators seized a cell phone and a laptop. Although the Civil Police requested the arrest of those involved, the court rejected the request. However, the precautionary removal of both police officers was maintained for a period of 90 days. At the same time, the PM Corregedoria also conducts internal investigation over the incident.

Researcher Rafael Moura, 38, lost his life during a joint police operation in the community of Fogaréu, Campo Limpo region. The episode came when Route and Civil Police teams acted in the same place without mutual knowledge of their presence. Images captured by body camera recorded the sequence of the facts around 5:42 pm. The recordings show Sergeant Marcus Augusto running towards a metallic gate, which he opens using a key found on the spot, before proceeding inside the favela.
Moments later, the shots that victimized the investigator occurred. Even after Rafael identified as a police officer, the shots continued. The audio of the images records the desperate screams of the victim’s colleagues warning that he was a policeman the investigator was shot by three projectiles, two in the chest. Submitted to Hospital das Clínicas, Rafael resisted five days before he died. Another civil police officer, Marcos Santos de Sousa, suffered superficial injuries in the same episode.
