The singer, who died at age 50 last Sunday (20) will continue to be honored by family, friends and admirers in seventh-day masses scheduled for this Saturday (26), and Monday (28). Religious celebrations will take place in Salvador and Rio de Janeiro.
This Saturday, at 16h, will be held the first Mass at the Santa Dulce of the Poor Sanctuary, in the Bahian capital. The place chosen is the same who received support from the artist in recent months, and the ceremony was announced by host Rita Batista, during the program is from home. The family’s advisory said that in Rio de Janeiro, the mass is scheduled for Monday at 19h, in the church of Santa Monica, in the Leblon neighborhood, in a ceremony open to the public.
Funeral and cremation
Preta Gil’s cremation ceremony ended around 5 pm on Friday (25), at the Penance Cemetery and Crematorium in Cashew, Rio’s Port Zone. The cremation option was a black request to the family. Her body was taken to the procession cemetery in a fire brigade car and went through the so -called Preta Gil Street Carnival circuit.
The ceremony was restricted to family and close friends of the singer. Earlier, relatives and friends participated in a last farewell to the singer, who was veiled at the municipal theater. The ceremony was open to the public from 9am to 1pm.
