President Donald Trump said on Friday that he did not consider granting a forgiveness or sentence switching to Ghislaine Maxwell, a longtime associate of convicted sexual criminal Jeffrey Epstein, where he turned to the political furor.
“It’s something I didn’t think,” Trump told reporters when asked about the possibility of a forgiveness for Maxwell. “I am allowed to do so, but it’s something I didn’t think.”
Maxwell is a 20 -year -old sentence in a federal prison in Tallahassee, Florida, after being considered guilty in 2021 for helping Epstein sexually abuse teenagers. Currently, she appeals from her sentence.

Trump has suffered growing pressure from supporters and political opponents to disclose more information from the Epstein Department of Justice’s investigation, a misfortune financier who, according to authorities, died from suicide in 2019 while waiting for trial on sex trafficking.
Earlier this year, Attorney General Pam Bondi promised to disclose additional materials related to potential customers of Epstein and the circumstances surrounding her death. This month, however, the Department of Justice reversed the decision and concluded that there was no basis to proceed with the investigation, nor evidence of a list of clients – which generated outrage between Trump supporters, who had long been accusing the government of covering Epstein connections with rich and powerful.
US Assistant Attorney General Todd Blanche, a former Trump personal lawyer, said he met with Maxwell in Florida on Thursday and planned to meet her again on Friday after contacting her lawyers to see if she could have “information about anyone who committed crimes against victims.”

Asked about the meeting between Blanche and Maxwell, Trump said on Friday that he was not aware of the details, only that it was taking place.
He then moved to other allegations, suggesting that prominent figures should be subjected to a thorough examination about their bonds with Epstein.
“They don’t talk about them. They talk about me. I have nothing to do with the guy,” Trump said.
