Federal Deputy Helio Lopes (-RJ) decided to camp in front of the (Supreme Federal Court) in protest to the decisions of the Supreme Ministers against the former president (PL).
Accompanied by Deputy Colonel Chrisostomo (PL-RO) and other supporters of the former president, the parliamentarian settled in the Three Powers Square with a camp tent, a Bible and a ribbon in his mouth, symbolizing a gag.
In his Instagram account, Helio had announced that he would make the demonstration, claiming that Parliament’s decisions are “torn by ministers of the Supreme.”
“I knelt before the Supreme Court with a scraping in my mouth, the Bible in hand and the constitution in the chest.
I didn’t come to look for stage. I came to leave a message. As long as they shut up Bolsonaro, censor the people and mock our faith, I will resist – even if silent, “he wrote.
Helio Lopes’ decision comes days after Minister Alexandre de Moraes’s measures against Bolsonaro, who faces lawsuits. Searches were ordered at the former president’s house, as well as the application of the electronic anklet and limitations to Bolsonaro’s speeches and demonstrations on social networks.
Still in his publication, the deputy said he is carrying only personal hygiene items, the 1988 Constitution, the Bible and his clothes.
According to the deputy’s allies, he has programmed publications on his social networks for the period in which he remains in the square.
The STF was sought and said it would not comment. The report also sought SSP (Secretariat of Public Security) of the Federal District.
Early in the evening, Deputy Chrisóstomo also set up a tent next to the co -religionist, announcing that he would also be at the scene.
People with green and yellow clothing accompany the demonstration, which even included a Bolsonaro double-tied by former president’s supporters.
Among the supporters of the act was also present the retired judge Sebastião Coelho, who was a lawyer of Filipe Martins-Bolsonaro’s advisor and one of the defendants of the 2022 coup plot.
Coelho was detained for a few hours after screaming at the trial of the complaint against the former president. “I’m first here in support of the manifestation itself to Deputy Helio Lopes. And also as I am a lawyer, if I have any violence against the Constitution, I’m here to defend it,” said Coelho.
