This Friday (25), a symbolic act in the center of Rio Branco brought together representatives of social movements, public institutions and family members of victims to denounce cases of femicide in Acre and collect more policies to confront gender violence. The mobilization occurred in front of Rio Branco Palace and marked the International Day of Latin American and Caribbean Black Women.
During the demonstration, 82 crosses were scattered outside the palace, representing women murdered in the state between 2018 and June 2025. Velas were lit and posters displayed as a form of tribute and denunciation. The act also highlighted the 158 attempted femicide recorded in the same period.
