Donald Trump announces that Cambodia and Thailand will celebrate ceasefire

A border dispute between the two countries has been dragging on a long time ago and led on Thursday to clashes that involved fighters, tanks, land troops and artillery.

The US President announced on Saturday that Cambodia and Thailand, who are in conflict due to a dispute over the layout of their common border, agreed to meet to wake up a ceasefire.

“They have agreed to meet immediately and quickly reach a ceasefire agreement,” Donald Trump wrote on his social network social network after talking to the leaders of both countries.

Noting that there were two “very good conversations,” he said hope that the two neighbors “will understand each other for many years.” Earlier this day, Trump had already stated to be talking to Cambodian and Thai leaders, stressing that both parties wanted an “immediate ceasefire and peace.”
