Israel’s Defense Forces (IDF) have announced a tactical break in their actions in the Gaza Strip to expand the entry of humanitarian aid into the territory. The suspension begins this Sunday, 17, from 10h to 20h and should occur daily, until new guidance. The measure follows guidelines of the political echelon, according to a note from IDF.

The interruption will begin in the areas where IDF is not operating: Al-Mawasi, Deir al-Balah and Gaza City.

By Saturday, 26, the Israeli army had already informed that air aid air releases would begin. Safe routes will also be in force for UN trains from 6am to 11pm.
In recent days, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu has been criticized by other leaders and organizations due to hunger reports in the Gaza Strip and the difficulty that those interested in sending humanitarian aid to the territory have faced.

The IDF, in a statement, says it will support humanitarian efforts along with operations against terrorist organizations. “IDF is prepared to expand the scale of this activity as needed,” concluded the army.
