On McLaren’s sixth double this season, Oscar Pastri and Lando Norris dominated the Belgium GP on Sunday (27) and crossed the arrival line, respectively, first and second. Charles Leclerc of Ferrari completed the podium.
The result keeps the fight for this year’s title between the two pilots of the English team. Pistri leads, with 266 points, and Norris, with 250, appears in second. Max Verstappen of Red Bull is the third with 185. In spa, he was the fourth place.
McLaren also leads the builders’ World Cup, now with 516 points. Ferrari is second, with 248. In addition to Leclerc’s third place, the team scored points with Lewis Hamilton’s seventh place – the heptacous champion had dropped in 18th position and had to climb the grid.
In recovery of the season, the Sauber team again had one of their pilots in the scoring zone, with Brazilian Gabriel Bortoleto in Nono. In his debut season, Paulista scored for the second time in the World Cup. The first had been in Austria when he arrived in eighth.
The race started with about an hour late because of the heavy rain that fell on the racetrack. The first three laps were played behind the Safety Car. Shortly after the start, with the moving cars, Pastri began to attack Norris and took the tip after the third curve. After that, he kept his position to the end.
The F1 now comes back next weekend, with the Hungary GP, on Sunday (3).
