Russia is launching direct commercial flights to North Korea on Sunday, AFP reported. This step is another sign of close relations of both countries.
The first flight of Nordwind Airlines from Moscow to Pyongyang is scheduled to start the evening of local time and landing in the North Korean metropolis by about eight hours, according to the web of these airlines. The ticket costs 45,000 rubles, which is approximately 483 euros.
The Russian state news agency TASS reported that the first flight will take place on Tuesday. According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, this line will be in operation once a month. Russia and North Korea also renewed the railway connection, suspended during the Covid pandemic in 2020.
Both countries have been strengthening military relations in recent years, and Pyongyang has provided Moscow soldiers and weapons for his offensive in Ukraine. At last year’s Summit of Russian President Vladimir Putin with North Korean leader Kim Jong, they signed an agreement on mutual defense.
