The cultural and heritage wealth of a country is often what makes it unforgettable for visitors and appreciated by those residing in it. From ancient ruins to cooking, music and tradition, culture defines national identity and global influence.
A global survey conducted by US News & World Report that asked 17,000 respondents to evaluate countries based on five key attributes – cultural achesibility, historical importance, food, cultural attractions and geographical attraction – has established a rankin with the 40 countries that have the best culture and heritage, as published.
In this classification Greece is in first place thanks to its incomparable historical legacy, followed by Italy. In third place is Spain, followed by France and Türkiye.
In total, Europe occupies seven of the top ten positions. “These countries are rich in sites declared a World Heritage by UNESCO, Art and Gastronomy.” Its long history of empire, religion and art has left indelible footprints in countries around the world, in turn influencing local cultures, “says the same medium.
Asian countries also stand out. Thailand, India and Japan appear in the top 15 positions, “which highlights the growing cultural impact of Asia.”
Thailand is recognized for its unique traditions and gastronomy, while the vast spiritual and architectural heritage of India enhances its position. Japan, meanwhile, gets good results in all categories.
