“The president is definitely willing to negotiate and talk to the big economies, for sure,” says Howard Lutnick about Donald Trump
The Secretary of Commerce of the United States, Howard Lutnick, said the tariffs, scheduled to start on August 1, will not be postponed. “Without further grace periods,” he said in an interview with Fox News. Even so, Lutnick said that when rates start, countries can still talk to the US government.
“The president is definitely willing to negotiate and talk to the big economies, for sure,” reports the secretary.
During the interview, Lutnick said revenues from tariffs are $ 700 billion a year, reaching $ 7 trillion in 10 years. The secretary also stated that the agreements that President Donald Trump has closed open markets for US exporters. “Never our agricultural and industrial sector had access to these markets,” he explains.
