The leaders of Thailand and Cambodia will participate in mediation negotiations for the Malaysian border conflict on Monday, the Thai government said, even with both sides, accusing each other of launching new artillery attacks into contested areas.
The conversations are scheduled for 3 pm on Monday, local time, with interim prime minister Phumtham Wechayachai leading the Thai negotiation team, the government announced in a statement on Sunday.
Malaysia, which chairs the Asean Regional Cooperation Forum, told the Thai government that Cambodia Prime Minister Hun Manet will also participate in the negotiations, according to the statement.
