In a restaurant on the Italian island of Ponza, chaos unleashed after a group of young tourists steal a living lobster of about five kilos of the local aquarium. The events occurred on July 12 at the Il Rifugio Restaurant Dei Naviganti, as reported by the media.
It is not clear if they wanted to eat it or release it, according to the restaurant owner, Mario Coppa, who spoke with La Repubblica. He explained that he was alerted to theft by passers -by and began chasing young tourists.
Once located, a violent fight between Coppa, the alleged authors and some passers -by was unleashed. The owner of the restaurant, in the complaint he filed the next day, said he was grabbed by the back and even kicked by people who spoke English.
In addition, the owner admitted that, trying to defend himself, he threw a chair, accidentally wounding a young man who tried to help him. The local manager was even more seriously injured and was transferred by helicopter to the hospital to perform tests.
Despite all this stir, the lobster survived the fight. “I was alive when we recovered it. So, instead of returning it to the tank, we decided to free it,” Coppa said.
This restaurant was already known after being attacked by users of social networks receiving an invoice of 923 euros for a meal for four people that included its famous lobster.
