The US president arrived in Scotland tonight for a prolonged weekend with golf and diplomacy, during which he will meet with the British Prime Minister and the President of the European Commission.
The Air Force One presidential aircraft landed shortly before 20.30 local time at Prestguke Airport, southwest of Glasgow.
Speaking to reporters, the US president confirmed that he would meet with von der Layen and reiterated that as 20 different “thorns” were resolved. But he added that “it will be the biggest agreement of all if we do it.”
Referring to his meeting with Starmer, he recalled that the two sides have already reached a trade agreement and therefore “discuss other things”.
