More than 500,000 retirees and pensioners who suffered improper discounts during INSS (National Institute of Social Security) fraud have already been reimbursed by the federal government, according to the president of the institute, Gilberto Waller. In all, the government has passed around R $ 330 million to the victims.

Payments began last Thursday (24).

. Payment follows the chronological order of adherence to the agreement, that is, those who first joined the agreement will receive first.

They may adhere to the reimbursement plan them and have not obtained response from the entities.

The deadline for membership runs until November 14, with the possibility of extension if necessary, according to the government.

The agreement allows those who suffered improper discounts between March 2020 and March 2025 receive the return value without having to go to court.

It is necessary to accept the proposal by the application my INSS or in person in the post office agencies. Adhesion is free and no additional documents are required, according to the government.

Minister Dias Toffoli of the Federal Supreme Court (STF) has authorized that the federal government’s payments to reimburse the fraud on INSS retirees may be made out of both tax frames and tax target.

For this, the government issued an MP (Provisional Measure) opening an extraordinary credit of approximately R $ 3.3 billion.

Extraordinary credit is an appeal that the government can use for unexpected expenses, outside the approved budget, without affecting the limit set for spending or the fiscal target.
