Quinn Simmons, the American Lidl-Trek team cyclist, concluded the return to France in a memorable way by proposing his girlfriend in the famous Elíse fields right after the last stage.
Simmons, who received the best assistant award from the 112nd edition of the Tour, stole the attention with the romantic moment he starred in. Taking advantage of the emblematic scenario of the Elése fields, the American invited his girlfriend to a special request.
The moment was captured to eternity: After descending from the bike, he headed with her to the triumph arch, held her hand, knelt and showed her engagement ring.
“I’m very happy. Doing this here, on this street, is very special. She was with me in all training centers, we had dinner together every night, so we can get here and share this moment,” he said excitedly.
