The Serbian Ministry of Justice announced on Monday that the cyber attacks from early July could have been “a hybrid warfare against the Serbian Republic”. The attack paralyzed some parts of the judiciary system, writes TASR based on AFP report.
According to the Ministry, the information system of the Serbian judiciary was attacked by July 4. “Severe and complex malicious cyber attacks”. “There are suspicions that this is part of a hybrid warfare against the Republic of Serbia,” It was stated by the Ministry, which connected the attack to several similar incidents.
The government has interrupted network links between the judiciary as part of the preventive measures before the dissemination of the attack. The cabinet was afraid that a cyber attack could have a long -term compromise of the functioning of the judiciary. The Ministry of Justice said the previous attacks on his website “came from Hungary and Ukraine”.
The outage occurred after a few months of mass anti -government demonstrations, during which protesters also demand early elections. The link between protests and cyber attacks cannot be confirmed at present.
