The level of the Kysuca River at Čadca has risen by more than a meter over the past 16 hours. On Monday at 9.00 am it was 147 centimeters and reached the first stage of flood activity. Data on the levels of rivers at regular fifteen -minute intervals are updated by the Slovak Hydrometeorological Institute (SHMI).

The Chadčianska City Hall informed on the social network that it regularly monitors the state of flows in the city. “Based on the inspection of this morning, we can say that the situation is not critical. The SHMI forecasts are more or less favorable,” The town hall stated.

Added that the Kysuce level is elevated and therefore invited the public to be cautious about activities around the river flow. According to the current model prediction of the SHMI water status, the Kysuca River should culminate on Monday afternoon at 160 centimeters and Consequently, the water level height should gradually decline.
