As a constant companion, the smartphone is always there and everywhere. In addition to the summit snack and hiking shoes, it is also an irreplaceable part in the repertoire on the mountain. However, even the most expensive model cannot help if the battery is discharged and no network is available. The Austrian Alpine Association (ÖAV) gives important tips for the correct and accurate handling of the cell phone on the mountain.
