Priests and parish members and are suffering attempts at telephone fraud by a person who passes through the Archbishop of Pamplona and Tudela, Florencio Roselló, imitating their voice, to ask for money.
The and Tudela has sent a note to the priests and religious alerting them of these scam attempts, in which man uses a different message on each occasion to request urgent transfers of money or data such as the account number to make a collection arguing the most varied excuses.
In a statement, the archbishopric warns that these calls are false and asks that the amounts that are requested or personal data are never paid.
This situation, highlights the archbishopric, does not occur only in the archdiocese of Pamplona and Tudela, since in recent days the dioceses of Madrid, Getafe, Mérida-Badajoz, Sevilla, Jaén, Mondoñedo-Ferrol and Barbastro-Monzón have denounced similar calls.
During the past summer, these calls were also recorded in the Dioceses of Bilbao and Vitoria, among others.
