Two children died and two others are in critical condition after Monday near the American city of Miami hit a freight ship into the sailboat, on which the victims were. TASR reports this according to the AP report and the NBC News website.
There were six people on the sailboat – five children and one adult. The rescuers pulled all people out of the water and four children were taken to a nearby hospital. Two of them were declared dead after their arrival, the US coast guard said, adding that two people are “in good condition”. According to the Miami Yacht Club yacht club there were participants in the children’s camp organized by Miami Youth Sailing Foundation.
NBC News, referring to a representative of firefighters from Miami, reported that An adult who was on the sailboat with children is a woman – probably the camp leader. The children were reportedly at the age of eight to 12 years.
